Characteristics

Leaves crowded at the branch apices, pendent; lamina 40–60 cm long, 3–5 cm wide at the base, narrowly lanceolate-attenuate, pale greyish-green and tinged with brownish-pink, with numerous small elongated whitish spots on both surfaces especially in young leaves; margin with pale cartilaginous deltoid teeth 1–2 mm long and 10–30 mm apart, the teeth larger near the base and smaller or absent towards the apex.

Perianth bright coral-red, pinkish-yellow, or entirely yellow, 23–30 mm long, 5–7 mm in diameter across the ovary, widening slightly toward the mouth, cylindric-trigonous; outer segments free for ± one-third, with tips recurved.
Sprawling perennial herb, suckering and branching from the base forming small groups of plants; branches 30–40 cm long, pendent over rocks and cliff-faces.
Racemes erect, 8–12 × 7 cm, cylindric-conical, laxly flowered; bracts 5–8 × 2.5–3 mm, lanceolate, papery-white; pedicels 10–17 mm long.
Inflorescence pendent, 35–60 cm long; peduncle 2–6-branched; branches widely spreading.
Stamens and stigma exserted c. 3 mm.
Capsule and seeds not seen.
