Sepals 5, free or partially united at the base. Petals 5, free or united up to half their length, valvate. Stamens 5, free, alternating with petals; filaments relatively short; anthers ovate-oblong or sagittate, apiculate. Ovary unilocular, hirsute; style filiform; stigma small, capitate; ovules 2, pendulous. Fruit a drupe, oblong-ellipsoid; seed large, woody.
