Herb, branched, semi-prostrate to ascending, to 30 cm high, puberulous. Leaves mostly subsessile; lamina oblong-ovate, to 2.5 cm long, obtuse or acute, the base attenuate. Flowers 1–5 in a dichasial cluster; peduncle 0.5–15 mm long, usually less than 5 mm long; pedicel to 1.5 mm long. Hypanthium broadly campanulate, c. 1.5 mm deep, puberulous or glabrous; appendages 4 spreading lobes, ± equal to sepals. Sepals broadly triangular, 0.5–1 mm long, erect. Petals absent. Stamens 4, included. Capsule globose, c. 3 mm diam., c. equal to hypanthium length; dehiscence irregular.
