Ligule 2-cleft, ca. 1.1 cm, membranous, glabrous, lobes rounded at apex; petiole ca. 16 cm; leaf blade adaxially green, abaxially pale green, oblong, 70--100 × 12--15 cm, adaxially glabrous, abaxially densely pubescent, lateral veins white when dry, base cuneate, apex acuminate. Flowers unknown. Infructescence paniculate; peduncle 30--40 cm, scalelike sheaths oblong, ca. 2.7 × 1 cm, apex mucronate. Capsule ellipsoid, 2.5--3.2 × 1.5--1.7 cm, 9-winged, sparsely villous, apex with persistent calyx; pedicel ca. 5 mm. Fr. May.
