Characteristics

Shrub, small, glabrous, monoecious, bushy, to c. 30 cm high and 40 cm across. Stems ascending to erect. Leaves more numerous and clustered towards the ends of branchlets; stipules with irregularly fimbriate margins; lamina linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 7–33 mm long, 0.8–2 mm wide; base attenuate; margins entire and revolute to midrib; apex acute. Flowers clustered, in a simple or compound spicate panicle 1–2 cm long. Male flowers 4-or 5-merous; stamens 8–10; filaments 1–2 mm long; anthers 0.3–0.6 mm long. Capsules ± ovoid, 1.6–2.5 mm long, ± smooth.
