Characteristics

Herb, perennial, twining, vine-like, apparently dioecious , scrambling over associated vegetation. Stems becoming entwined with others and support plants. Leaves widely spaced along lower stems; stipules erose distally, otherwise entire; lamina linear or narrowly oblanceolate or almost narrowly spathulate, 6–26 mm long, 0.6–1.8 mm wide; base attenuate; margins entire or with 1 or 2 gland-like swellings, revolute; apex apiculate. Flowers clustered in leaf axils. Male flowers 3 (or 4)-merous; stamens 6 (–8); filaments up to 1.5 mm long; anthers 0.4–0.6 mm long. Capsules ± ovoid, to 2.4 mm long, ± smooth.
