Characteristics

Straggling, virgate shrub up to 90 cm tall. Branches erect to suberect, partly aphyllous with cicatrices from fallen leaves. Branchlets suberect or patently incurved. Leaves scattered or crowded 3 below the lateral inflorescences, lanceolate, 7.5-11.5 x 1.8-3.2 mm, acute, sericeous, margins slightly recurved. Inflorescences 1-2-flowered, axillary, dispersed over a distance of up to 20 cm, sessile or subsessile. Pedicel short 0.4-0.9 mm. Bract narrow lanceolate, acute, 1.8-5.0 x 0.3-0.6 mm, sericeous. Calyx 4.5-6.0 mm, sericeous, the receptacle 0.5-0.8 mm; calyx lobes narrow triangular; lower lobes 2.3-3.3 mm; upper lobes medially fused to 1.0-1.8 mm from their apices. Vexillum lamina light pink, elliptic, deeply cleft, 5.0-8.0 x 4.0-6.5 mm; claw 1.5-2.5 mm. Ala blades light pink, obliquely oblong, 4.2-6.7 x 1.4-3.0 mm; claws 2.3-3.2 mm. Carina blades purple, cymbiform, 3.2-3.8 x 1.3-1.9 mm with a prominent spur; claws 2.3-3.5 mm. Stamens 5.5-7.0 mm, connate basally for 2.3-4.2 mm; anthers unequal 0.3-0.6 mm. Pistil 5.5-7.0 mm, uni-ovulate; ovary sericeous; style glabrous on most part, curved at the apex. Pod small ca. 5.5-6.0 x 3.5 mm, sericeous, one-seeded.
