Amphithalea ericifolia (L.) Eckl. & Zeyh.

An ascending to erect, 25-100 cm high shrublet. Leaves erect, erecto-patent or spreading, lanceolate, 5.0-14.5 x 1.4-4.0 mm, acute or acuminate, leaf margins recurved; upper surface glabrous or sericeous, lower sericeous, rarely glabrous. Inflorescences axillary, 1-2-flowered, subsessile, clustered at the end of the branchlets or aggregated in a spike-like assemblage, rarely solitary, axillary. Flowers pink or rose with a dark keel. Calyx lobes triangular, acute; upper lobes medially fused to 0.5-2.5 mm from their apices, lower calyx lobes 1.3-3.5 mm. Vexillum lamina sub-orbicular, emarginate. Ala blades obliquely oblong with a basal fold covering the spur. Carina blades cymbiform with a small spur. Stamens fused for 2.5-4.0 mm.
