Characteristics

Low decumbent or ascending shrub, ca. 30 cm high. Branches and branchlets terete, slender and villous. Leaves arcuately ascending, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, acute-apiculate, apex hardened, 3.8-8.2 x 1.5-3.5 mm, margins recurved; upper surface pilose, lower densely sericeous. Inflorescences 1-2-flowered. Flowers rose and purple, aggregated 2-4 at the end of the branchlets. Bract linear-lanceolate, 1.4-2.2 x 0.3-0.5 mm, sericeous on both sides. Pedicel short 0.2-0.4 mm. Calyx sericeous, 3.2-6.0 mm; calyx lobes triangular, acuminate; upper lobes medially connate to 0.7-1.6 mm from their apices, lower lobes 1.2-3.5 mm. Vexillum lamina rose, obovate, emarginate, 4.2-5.8 x 4.2-5.4 mm, gradually continuing in a claw 1.4-2.8 mm. Ala blades rose, obliquely oblong, obtuse, 3.5-4.6 x 1.3-2.3 mm, broadest in the middle and with a basal fold; claws 2.5-3.2 mm. Carina blades purple, oblong, obtuse, 3.2-3.8 x 1.2-1.7 mm with a basal spur; claws 2.5-3.2 mm. Stamens adnate to the receptacle for 0.5-1.1 mm; excluding this 4.7-5.5 mm, connate for the basal 3.1-4.3 mm; anthers 0.2-0.6 mm, subequal, dorsifixed. Pistil 5.4-6.6 mm, uni-ovulate; ovary sericeous; style pubescent for half its length, glabrous for the rest. Pod obliquely oblong-ovate, 5.0-6.2 x 3.2-3.5 mm; seed ca. 2.2 x 1.2 mm.
