Characteristics

A low, virgate, silvery grey shrub, 30-45 cm tall. Branches erect or ascending, woody, bare below. Branchlets patently curved, appressed pubescent. Leaves lanceolate, acute, 5.0-11.0 x 1.3-3.0 mm, flat with slightly recurved margins, silky-canescent on both sides. Inflorescences 2-flowered. Flowers 2-4, subsessile, aggregated at the end of the branchlets with the petals almost hidden by the calyx. Corolla yellow or greenish-yellow. Bract lanceolate, 1.3-3.2 x 0.2-0.8 mm, acute, sericeous on both sides. Calyx fulvous, villous, 5.2-8.0 mm; receptacular part 1.0-1.3 mm; calyx lobes triangular, acute, villous; upper lobes medially fused to 1.5-2.3 mm from their apices, lower lobes sub-equal, 4.0-6.0 mm. Vexillum lamina oblong, 4.5-8.0 x 3.0-3.8 mm, emarginate; claw broad and short 0.5-2.0 mm. Ala blades obliquely oblong, 6.5-8.5 x 1.6-2.2 mm, broadest in the middle and tapering at both ends with a low basal fold; claws 1.0-2.3 mm. Carina blades rostrate, 4.8-6.5 x 1.8-2.4 mm with a low basal bulge; claws 1.2-2.3 mm. Stamens 6.0-7.2 mm, staminal tube 2.5-4.0 mm; anthers 0.5-0.7 mm. Pistil 5.0-8.0 mm, uni-ovulate; ovary sericeous. Pod ovate, 8.0-9.0 x 4.5 mm, sericeous.
