Characteristics

Erect shrublet, ca. 22-45 cm tall. Branches virgate, pubescent. Leaves ovate or lanceolate-ovate, acute, nearly flat with slightly incurved margins, 6.0-11.0 x 3.1-5.0 mm, sericeous on both surfaces, at length glabrescent with nerves plainly visible. Inflorescences axillary on upper 5-10 cm of branchlets, 1-2-flowered. Flowers sessile, pale mauve and purple. Bract small, linear, obtuse, 1.0-2.0 x 0.3-0.7 mm. Calyx 2.7-3.5 mm, sericeous; lower receptacular part ca. 0.5 mm; calyx lobes acute; upper ones medially fused to 0.4-0.5 mm from their apices, lower ones 0.7-1.2 mm. Vexillum lamina pale mauve, obovate, emarginate, 5.3-7.0 x 5.0-6.0 mm; claw 1.4-2.2 mm. Ala blades pale mauve, oblong, obtuse, 4.0-5.0 x 1.5-2.0 mm; claws 2.3-3.0 mm. Carina blades purple, obliquely oblong, 3.2-4.2 x 1.5-1.8 mm, broadest on apical part and with a basal puckering. Stamens 5.5-7.0 mm apart from the basal part ca. 0.5 mm, which is adnate to the receptacle; staminal tube 3.3-5.0 mm; anthers 0.3-0.6 mm, alternately smaller dorsifixed and larger versatile. Pistil 6.0-7.0 mm, ovary pubescent, uni-or rarely biovulate; style purplish, slightly curved; lower part pubescent, upper part glabrous. Pods not seen.
