Characteristics

Suffrutex, moderately or much branched. Branches ± closely leafy to the corymb, woolly when young, becoming glabrous, nude and marked with leaf-scars lower down. Leaves patent-reflexed, elliptic-broadly elliptic, 0.5-1(-1.5) cm long and 3-5(-7) mm wide, mucronate, smooth and glabrous on upper side. Corymbophore 0. Corymb 1.5-2(-2.5) cm wide. Peduncles up to 5 mm long, densely woolly. Capitula 5-7-flowered. Involucral bracts 12-15. Outer bracts narrowly ovate-ovate, (4-)4.5-5(-5.5) mm long and 1.5-2 mm wide, light brown with browner apex and base, acute, outside and margins glabrous. Middle bracts narrowly elliptic-narrowly ovate, 5-5.6 mm long and 1.5-2.2 mm wide, light brown with browner apex and base, (acute-)obtuse, outside and margins glabrous. Inner bracts stipitate; claw narrowly elliptic, 4-4.7 mm long and 1-1.6 mm wide, light brown, outside and margins glabrous; lamina broadly elliptic, 2-2.3 mm long and (1.3-)1.7-2 mm wide, white, opaque, obtuse. Female floret 1. Corolla 2.5-2.7 mm long. Pappus bristles c. 10, 0.8-1.6(-2) mm long, otherwise as in male florets. Achene narrowly oblong-narrowly elliptic, (1.5-)2.2-2.7 mm long and 0.5-0.7 mm wide, deep brown, glabrous or very sparingly glandular. Male florets 4-6. Corolla (3.1-)3.4-3.8 mm long, light brown. Pappus bristles 12-15, (2-)2.2-2.5(-2.8) mm long, white, straight, barbellate-somewhat subplumose, free at the base.
