Inner bracts stipitate; claw narrowly elliptic-narrowly obovate, (1.5-)2.5-3 mm long and 0.5-1 mm wide, light brown-light green, outside and (especially) margins densely woolly; lamina circular-transversely broadly elliptic-depressed obovate, 1.5-2 mm long and 1-2 mm wide, white, opaque, obtuse-truncate or somewhat emarginate. Female floret(s) 1(-2). Corolla 2.2-2.5 mm long. Pappus bristles c. 10, normally as long as the corolla tube, otherwise as in male florets. Achene (narrowly) elliptic, (1.5-)1.8-2.1 mm long and 0.5-0.8 mm wide, deep brown, copiously white-woolly. Male florets 5-11. Corolla 2.5-3 mm long, often somewhat darker below the middle.
