Characteristics

Small epiphytic herbs. Pseudobulbs clustered, orbicular to conical, ± dorsiventrally flattened, bearing 1–2 apical leaves. Leaves thin-textured, plicate. Inflorescences arising from base of pseudobulbs, arcuate-spreading, 1–5-flowered, pubescent. Flowers showy, white to rose-pink or purple, marked with brown on column. Sepals spreading, subsimilar, pubescent on outer surface. Petals smaller but similar in shape. Lip 3-lobed, recurved apically, with erect side lobes on each side of column. Column clavate, porrect, pubescent, with a short foot; pollinia 8, of two sizes, lacking a stipe and viscidium; rostellum pointed.
