Characteristics

Herbs perennial, forming dense cushions, 1.5--3 cm tall, from branched caudex. Leaf rosettes of current year superimposed on old leaf rosettes or with indistinct intervals. Leaves sessile, overlapping, homomorphic, linear, 3.5--5 X 0.6--1 mm, ciliate, proximal 1/2--2/3 membranous and glabrous, distal 1/3--1/2 hirtellous and green, base slightly narrowed, apex obtuse. Scapes 1.5--2.5 cm, white hirtellous; bracts oblong, ca. 4 mm, conduplicate, villous. Pedicel 1.5--3 mm, villous. Calyx cup-shaped, ca. 1.5 mm, sparsely villous, parted to ± middle; lobes triangular. Corolla pink, with a prominent ring at mouth; tube ca. 2.2 mm; limb ca. 6 mm wide; lobes obovate, 2.2--2.5 X 1.8--2 mm, margin entire, apex rounded.
