Characteristics

Rhizome horizontal, up to 5 x 8 mm, densely set with light brown to reddish brown multicellular hairs up to 7 mm long. Fronds tufted, firmly herbaceous; stipe stramineous, up to 230 mm long, thinly villous with brown multicellular hairs up to 4 mm long; sterile lamina ovate-deltate to deltate, up to 130 x 120 mm, 2-pinnate to 3-pinnatifid; sterile pinnae pinnate to 2-pinnatifid, shortly petiolulate, sparsely villous on both surfaces; ultimate segments obtuse to rounded, decurrent, sinuately lobed, minutely crenate-dentate. Fertile pinnae erect, longer than sterile portion, with petiolules up to 80 mm long and fertile pinnae proper up to 140 mm long, 3-pinnatifid, segments glabrous, up to 1 mm broad; rhachis thinly villous.
