Glaucous, stiff-leaved, few-branched shrub, up to 1.5 m high. Leaves in axillary clusters, grooved above, mature leaves invariably 3-pinnate, reduced, lobes linear, pungent; lower leaves triternate with flat, toothed segments. Flowers in small, compound umbels on slender peduncles, yellowish. Flowering time Dec.-Apr. Fruit obovoid, ridged and wrinkled, with a basal collar.
Like A. swellendamense but leaves grooved above.
