Similar to Anigozanthos viridis but differs in the leaves being flat, 5-35 cm long and 2-10 mm wide; flowers two-coloured with the hairs on scape, pedicels and ovaries red or red-purple and those on perianth green; perianth 3-12 mm wide at narrowest point above middle; anthers 2.3-5.7 mm long; and filaments 1.5-7.5 mm long.
