Characteristics

Very tall tree, up to 45 m. in height.. Young parts ± longly hirsute, hairs shining-white or-(brownish-)yellow.. Larger leaf-blades narrowly elliptic to elliptic, 2–7.5 × 0.5–3.5 cm., papery, ± rounded or cuneate to a small deltoid base, narrowed to a subacuminate acute apex, glabrous or nearly so at maturity; smaller leaves alternating with larger, 0.5–1.5 cm. long and relatively broader, otherwise similar.. Spikes up to 4 cm. long; bracts on the rhachis evident, narrowly lanceolate to almost lanceolate, 2–6 mm. long.. Petals 3–5-lobed; lobes with longly attenuate coiled apices.. Styles partially joined, inflated below the middle; narrower apical part very short and ± divergent.. Fruits not seen.
