Plants dark green to brownish, slender, forming lax, pendulous mats. Branches 0.5-1.5 cm long, 0.3-0.5 mm thick when dry, scarcely branching; central strand not differentiated. Leaves somewhat complanate when moist, delicate, ca. 0.5 mm long, with apex intact, obtuse to rounded; margin entire, not crenulate; costa length variable, from 1/3 to 2/3 of the lamina, covered by laminal cells when reaching beyond the middle; lamina cells pluripapillose, papillae short and inconspicuous, rarely or faintly branching. Seta 2-3 mm long. Capsule erect, symmetrical, oblong-ovate; urn 0.7-1.0 mm long, stomata absent; annulus differentiated; exostome smooth below, teeth verrucose. Calyptra with papillae and hyaline hairs.
