Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 4 (–8) m high, evergreen. Stipules lanceolate, c. 3 mm long. Leaves: petiole 7–15 mm long; lamina elliptic or elliptic-ovate, 50–110 long, 20–50 mm wide, margin entire or weakly sinuate, tip acute, acuminate, base cuneate, rounded. Male flowers c. 1.5 mm long; calyx cupular, c. 0.5 mm long; disc with dense hairs; stamens 4 or 5. Female flowers c. 1 mm long; pedicel 0.5–1.5 mm long; calyx 5-lobed, cupular, 0.5–1 mm long; disc annular, with sparse to dense hairs; styles 2, erect, sublateral, c. 0.5 mm long. Fruit not seen.
