Spreading or, less often, erect tap-rooted pubescent annual, 20–120 cm. tall.. Leaf-rhachis 0·5–2·5 cm. long; leaflets 5–11, alternate or subopposite, linear-lanceolate, 4–20 mm. long and 0·5–4 mm. wide, glabrous above.. Umbels 2–8-flowered, the peduncle 1·5–8 cm. long, usually with a foliaceous bract about half-way up or, less often, near the top; pedicels 2–3 mm. long, the bracteoles inserted towards the top.. Calyx pubescent, the receptacle and tube each ± 1 mm. deep; teeth 2–3 mm. long.. Corolla yellow or orange, the standard brown-veined, ± 4 mm. long.. Ovary glabrous, ± 4 mm. long including the 1 mm. stipe; style under 1 mm. long, glabrous.. Pod 2–5-seeded, the segments 2–2·5 mm. in diameter.. Seeds dark brown.. Fig. 147, p. 1050.

Umbels 2–8-flowered; peduncle 1.5–8 cm long with a bract resembling the leaves situated near the middle or, less often, towards the apex; pedicels 2–3 mm long, bearing small bracteoles towards the apex.
Fruit c. 7–12 mm long, the articles 2–2.5 mm in diameter, shining, glabrous, with reticulate venation.
Corolla yellow or orange; standard limb 1.5–2 × 2.5 mm, oblate, brown-veined, the claw 1.5–2 mm long.
Spreading or, more rarely, erect pubescent annual herb 0.2–1.2 m tall, with a well-defined taproot.
Ovary glabrous, c. 4 mm long including the 1 mm long stipe; style scarcely 1 mm long.
Calyx pubescent, the hypanthium and tube each c. 1 mm long; teeth 2–3 mm long.
