Characteristics

Dwarf shrub. Stems procumbent, densely, well branched, ridged, branches ± woody at least below, leafy throughout; woolly pubescent or glabrous. Leaves with blade narrowly obovate to obovate, occasionally subrotund, 0.5-1.6 x 0.5-2.3 mm, apex mucronate or acuminate, not spinous at tip, narrowed to petiolate base, margins entire, pubescent or glabrous; petioles ± as long as leaves. Flowers: axillary, many, sessile, on upper side of branches and exceeding leaves; calyx 4-6 mm long; corolla puberulous, tube slender at base, 12-19 mm long, blue or purple; Jan.-Dec.
