Characteristics

Is immediately distinguishable from the previous three species (i.e. A. crispa, A. elliptica and A. opegrapha) by its large leafy speckled bracts and sepals, the latter are ovate, 10 mm. long, 6 mm. wide, with conspicuous venation and they completely conceal the unopened flower.. The mature flower attains 19 mm. in diameter and the obovate leaves reach a length of 14.6 cm.. The anthers dehisce by longitudinal slits.
