Aristea latifolia G.J.Lewis

Plants mostly 800-1200 mm high. Stem weakly compressed, ovoid in section, usually several-branched in upper half. Leaves several, broad, 1/2 to 2/3 as long as stem, 15-25 mm wide, firm, fibrous, margins hyaline, acute. Flower clusters several per stem in lax pseudopanicle, each (2)6-to 8-flowered; spathes 7-9 mm long, lanceolate, bracts pale grey or brown, papery, becoming torn with age. Flowers on pedicels 5-7(-9) mm long, deep blue; tepals subequal, ± 12 mm long, spreading. Filaments ± 5 mm long; anthers ± 4 mm long. Style ± 8 mm long, terminating in three, short, entire stigmatic lobes. Capsules ovoid, shallowly 3-lobed, 8-9 mm long, on pedicels 5-9 mm long. Seeds angular-prismatic, ± 2 mm diam., surface sculpturing unknown.
