Aristea zeyheri Baker

Plants 180-400 mm high. Stem terete, slender, unbranched. Leaves terete, filiform, lower basal, half as long as stem, upper shorter, ± 1 mm diam. Flower clusters 1 or 2(3), sessile except terminal, mostly 2-flowered; spathes dark green with narrow silvery-transparent margins, mostly 20-25 mm long, bracts transparent becoming lacerated. Flowers blue, evidently nodding; tepals obovate, 16-18 x 8-10 mm, obtuse to emarginate. Filaments 5 mm long; anthers ± 3 mm long. Ovary obovoid to subcylindric, 3-lobed, 5-10 mm long; style 3-lobed, lobes lightly fringed. Capsules elongate, broadly 3-winged, (16-)22-28 mm long. Seeds lamellate, kidney-shaped, ± 3 mm long, with prominently fringed margins.
