Perianth greenish or purplish-green in the lower part, glabrous to densely hairy; constricted part below the utricle 0.5–4 mm long; inflated part (utricle) 3–6 mm in diameter, subglobose; tube 3–15 ? 1–2 mm, straight, cylindrical, dilated at apex; limb 8–35 ? 3.5–11 mm, oblong-elliptic, rounded to subacute at the apex, glabrous to densely hairy outside, glabrous to glabrescent inside, reddish-purple to dark purplish-brown, buff-cream in throat.
Fruit a pendulous6-ribbed capsule, pubescent to glabrescent, 1.5–3 ? 0.7–1.6 cm, oblong-obpyriform; apex rounded; base attenuate into stipe 7–15 mm long; the mature capsule and stipe split longitudinally into 6 segments which remain joined to the pedicel by the elements of the stipe.
Flowers solitary, axillary, pendulous; pedicels (including ovary) 0.3–20 mm long, pubescence as for stems; inflorescence bract 2.5–12 ? 1–3 mm, lanceolate to narrowly ovate, tomentose to pubescent with long and very short hairs.
Seeds 3.5–7 ? 3–6.5 mm, triangular with rounded corners and curled margins (in dried state at least), creamy-yellow, smooth, with thick cuneate raphe down middle of one side, sometimes ± equalling the seed in width.
