Dwarf much-branched shrub forming low compact cushions, young branches densely leafy. Leaves closely imbricated, linear, abruptly acute, up to 15 x 2 mm, margins strongly revolute, both surfaces glandular-pilose, midrib strongly raised below. Heads sessile, solitary at the branch tips. Involucre turbinate, c. 12 x 10-12 mm, bracts pale brown or straw-coloured, lightly woolly, minutely glandular. Flowers yellow, both rays and disc fertile. Achenes c. 3.5 mm, fusiform, ribbed, pilose. Pappus of scabrid bristles, persistent.
