Dwarf, much-branched shrub, 0.45-0.90 m high, forming low, compact cushions, young stems densely leafy. Leaves linear, acute, up to 20 x 1.25 mm, margins strongly revolute, lower surface white-woolly, glabrescent, upper surface glandular-hispid. Capitula solitary at branch tips; involucre turbinate, ± 8-10 x 10 mm; bracts straw-coloured. Flowers yellow, rays female, discs hermaphrodite. Flowering time Dec. Pappus of ± 17 bristles, subequal, the longest equalling disc corolla, persistent.
