Characteristics

Tuberous, perennial herb. Tubers 10–15 mm long, 3–5 mm wide, sessile. Leaves c. 4–10, prostrate and c. 4 cm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, to erect and c. 9–10 cm long, 4–5 mm wide, withering by about flowering. Scapes simple to 1-branched, 10–25 cm long; lower sterile bracts c. 2.5 cm long, upper c. 5 mm long. Flowers usually 1 per node; pedicels drooping, c. 1–1.3 cm long, articulated c. 1.5–2 mm from flower; bracts ± scarious, 5–10 mm long. Perianth segments elliptic, c. 5 mm long, c. 3 mm wide. Sepals green. Petals white. Anthers 0.8 mm long, straight; filaments c. 2.2 mm long, flattened, with 2 rows of hairs almost to base. Ovary cylindrical, 1.5 mm long, 0.8 mm diam.; style 0.8 mm long. Capsule c. 3 mm diam.; perianth persistent.
