Ascending, sparsely branched shrublet, 0.2-0.5 m high; densely leafy branches resembling cats tails, short-villous when young. Leaves glabrous. Leaflets linear, needle-like, 3.0-7.5 mm long, terete, straight, slightly incurved or s-curved, acuminate, glabrous, green, not very rigid. Inflorescences unifloral, distributed along 50 mm of branch ends. Flowers hidden by leaves at branch ends. Calyx velvety, green or purplish; lobes widely subulate.
