Characteristics

An erect or ascending shrublet 0.4-0.8 m tall, rather sparingly branched. Young branches short-tomentose. Leaflets subulate, (1-)3-10 mm long, tapering, sharply spinose. Bracts lanceolate or narrowly elliptic, 2.5-3.5 x 0.7-1.3 mm. Pedicel ±0.5 mm. Bracteoles 2-3 x 0.7-1 mm. Calyx with short, scattered, spreading hairs; lobes triangular, subulate, 2.5-3 mm long. Petals bright yellow (slightly greyish or greenish when fading). Standard blade 6-7.5 x 5.5-6.5 mm, glabrous or with few hairs at base of back. Wing blades 5.5-6.5 x 2.3-2.8 mm. Keel blades somewhat more upcurved and less rounded than in A. aciphylla, 5.4-6.5 x 2.8-3.5 mm. Pistil: ovules 2-5. Pod narrowly and obliquely elliptic, 7-8.5 x ±3 mm, slightly rugose, often partly bluish grey.
