Characteristics

Plants 35-50 cm tall, subshrubby, all parts mostly very densely covered with appressed, often somewhat flexuous, only white hairs. Stems of current year very densely covered with ± medifixed hairs 0.8-1 mm. Leaves 4-10 cm; stipules 3-4 mm, appressed hairy; petiole 2-4 cm, hairy like stem; leaflets in 2 or 3(or 4) pairs, 4-15(-20) × 2-5(-8) mm, both surfaces densely covered with ± medifixed, appressed hairs ca. 1 mm. Racemes 4-10 cm, remotely 4-8-flowered; peduncle 3-6 cm, densely appressed hairy; bracts ca. 2 mm, hairy. Calyx 6-7 mm, densely covered with medifixed, flexuous, appressed hairs ca. 0.5 mm; teeth 0.5-1 mm. Petals pale violet; standard elliptic to obovate, 13-15 × 5-6 mm, apex slightly emarginate; wings 11-13 mm; keel 10-12 mm. Legumes 6-8 mm, 4-5 mm high and 3.5-4 mm wide, with a beak 1-2 mm, incompletely 2-locular; valves densely covered with tangled, ascending to spreading, ± flexu­ous, basifixed, white hairs 1-1.5 mm and with subappressed, ± medifixed, very short hairs.
