Succulent, perennial herb. Stem up to 0.2 m high, erect or eventually sprawling, proliferating from base, covered with spiralling leaves for whole length. Leaves in 5 straight rows or imbricate, green, reddening when exposed to sun, ovate-lanceolate, smooth, not shining, apex with sharp point. Inflorescence lax, erect. Flowers white with yellow lobes, midribs pale green, outer tepals inflated below. Flowering time Nov.-June.
