Characteristics

Moderately branched shrub, up to 1 m high. Leaves alternate, palmately cleft with (3-) 5(-7) broad lobes, glabrous at maturity. Capitula discoid, in dense, simple corymbs, pedunculate; involucre urceolate to rotund; bracts imbricate, ovate to oblong, ± hairy. Receptacle paleate, paleae apically, irregularly lacerate, glabrous. Disc florets tubular below, campanulate above, with dense ring of long-stalked glands at base of tube, yellow. Pappus absent. Cypselae cylindric, 10-ribbed.
