Tree to 15 (–20) m tall. Branchlets spreading, often ± distichous. Adult leaves imbricate, closely appressed, ovate, 2–5 mm long, 1.5–3 mm wide, thick, obtuse, keeled. Male cones ovoid, 2–3 mm long. Female cones globular, 12–15 mm diam.; fertile bract scales thick, round, ± peltate, with the bract forming a short triangular point on outer surface.
