Cormous geophyte, up to 120 mm tall, stem occasionally 1-or 2-branched, hairy above. Leaves sword-shaped, scarcely plicate, smooth or sparsely hairy on veins and margins. Flowers 5-8 in an erect spike, bilabiate, blue-mauve with yellow nectar guides, perianth tube 12-14 mm long, dorsal tepal 22-24 mm long, ovary smooth, bracts shortly hairy below, forked in upper third.
