Usually a scrambling or climbing shrub.. Young stems and inflorescences appressed pubescent to densely spreading tomentose.. Leaves: petiole 1–5(–6) cm.; lamina broadly ovate to lanceolate, up to 12.5 cm. long and 8 cm. wide, rounded to subcordate at the base, obtuse to acuminate or acute at the apex; lower surface pubescent, upper surface glabrous.. Flowers in axillary, sometimes branched, racemes 2–6(–9) cm. long; pedicels 3–10(–12) mm.; bracteoles semicircular or reniform to triangular-lanceolate, 1–4.5 mm. long, inserted immediately below the calyx.. Calyx 4–7(–8) mm. long, pubescent to tomentose like the stem, at anthesis splitting down 2 sides into 2 separate halves.. Petals white or yellowish with a yellow or orange blotch, 7–11 mm. long.. Stamen-filaments glabrous; anthers 0.7–1.3 mm. long.. Ovary villous with a glabrous style.. Pod 4–9 × 0.7–1.4 cm., straw-coloured.
