Branchlets 25-51 mm [as '1-2 in.'] long, from a woody stock, with minute lines of hairs; leaves attaining 0.5 by 0.06 in., linear, mucronate, glabrate, margins cartilaginous white spine-toothed; axillary spines 0.25 in. long, linear-lanceolate, subfoliaceous; flowers solitary, axillary; posticous sepal 0.3-0.5 in. long, elliptic-lanceolate, minutely hairy, margins spine-toothed; corolla deep blue; tube exceeding 0.75 in. in length, linear-cylindric to the top; lobes 0.3 in. long, orbicular.
