A succulent herb. It has rhizomes or underground stems. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 50-70 cm high. The young branches are stout. The leaves are oblong and oblique. They are 15-20 cm long by 5-7 cm wide. They taper to the tip. The base is unequal and heart shaped with ear like lobes. There are 6-7 veins spread out like fingers on a hand. There are teeth towards the tip. The leaf stalks are 3-4 cm long. The flower are white. There are 4-5 in groups in the axils of leaves. The fruit is a capsule that does not have wings. It is rounded and 12 mm long by 14 mm wide.
