Characteristics

Erect annual herb to 6 cm high. Indumentum lacking. Leaves narrow-elliptic to elliptic, 3–9 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide, acute, margin entire or occasionally glands prominent, veins obscure, prominent brown apical gland. Stipules 1.25–2.5 mm long, 0.25–0.5 mm wide. Flowers single per axil, appearing clustered terminally; pedicel 1–2.5 mm long. Bracteoles absent. Sepals 4, narrow-elliptic, 2.5–5 mm long, 0.5–1 mm wide, acuminate, often with mucro to 0.4 mm long, glabrous, margin narrow, entire, naviculate, keel mostly prominent, sinuate. Petals 4, narrow-ovate, c. ½ to subequal with sepals, 1.5–2.5 mm long, 0.5–1 mm wide, acute, mucronate, erect at anthesis. Stamens 4; antisepalous, 1–1.5 mm long, filament flattened, scarcely dilated at base. Capsule pyriform, 1.75–2.5 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, 4-locular; styles ± sessile to 0.25 mm long; stigmas clavate. Seeds ellipsoid, c. 0.3 mm long, c. 0.1 mm wide, pale yellow-brown, shiny, smooth to faintly alveolate.
