Characteristics

Shrub to 2 m high, viscid on floral buds and upper leaf surface; young branchlets with dense straw-coloured indumentum of stellate hairs. Leaves alternate, narrowly oblong to lorate or rarely narrowly obovate, 10–27 mm long, 1.5–3.2 mm wide; base shortly cuneate; margin revolute; apex obtuse to rounded, ultimately apiculate; adaxial surface with a sparse to moderately dense indumentum of stalked stellate hairs, glabrescent, tuberculate. Inflorescences on peduncles to 1.5 mm long. Male flowers: androecium 2–3 mm long; stamens 25–30. Female flowers sessile; calyx lobes ovate to oblong-ovate, 1.8–2.2 mm long, glabrous abaxially, with margins entire; ovary densely stellate-pubescent. Fruit narrowly ellipsoid, 7–8 mm long, with a moderately dense indumentum of stellate hairs, 1-seeded; persistent calyx lobes half the fruit length or less.
