Characteristics

Shrub to 4 m high, viscid on young shoots, flower buds and upper leaf surface; young branchlets with a dense white indumentum of stellate hairs. Leaves alternate, lorate, linear-obovate or narrowly obovate, 19–39 mm long, 2.5–4.4 mm wide; base attenuate to cuneate; margin recurved; apex acute to obtuse; adaxial surface glabrous, smooth. Inflorescences on peduncles 1–4 mm long. Male flowers: androecium 3.7–6.2 mm long; stamens 40–50. Female flowers on pedicels 0.3–1.1 mm long; calyx lobes narrowly ovate or narrowly triangular, 2.8–3.2 mm long, glabrous abaxially, with margins entire; ovary glabrous or with scattered stellate hairs. Fruit narrowly ellipsoid, 6.7–7.3 mm long, glabrous or with scattered stellate hairs, 1-seeded; persistent calyx lobes half the fruit length or less.
