Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m high; young branchlets with a moderately dense to dense straw-coloured to golden yellow indumentum of stellate hairs. Leaves alternate, linear to lorate, oblong or rarely narrowly elliptic, 6–24 mm long, 1.4–3.7 mm wide; base obtuse to cuneate; margin recurved; apex obtuse to rounded; adaxial surface densely hairy with stipitate stellate hairs, glabrescent, tuberculate. Inflorescences on peduncles 1–1.6 mm long. Male flowers: androecium 3–3.7 mm long; stamens 35–65. Female flowers sessile; calyx lobes narrowly ovate to ovate, 2–2.7 mm long, densely stellate-pubescent abaxially, with margins entire; ovary densely stellate-pubescent. Fruit narrowly ellipsoid or narrowly ovoid, 5.5–7.6 mm long, glabrous except for a sparse to moderately dense indumentum of stellate hairs distally, 1-seeded; persistent calyx lobes c. ¼ the fruit length.
