Characteristics

Shrub to 1.8 m high, viscid on adaxial leaf surfaces and flower buds; young branchlets with a dense straw-coloured or greyish indumentum of stellate hairs. Leaves alternate, narrowly oblong to lorate or sometimes linear, 8–23 mm long, 1.3–3 mm wide; base obtuse; margin recurved to flat or rarely revolute; apex rounded or obtuse; adaxial surface glabrous, smooth. Inflorescences on peduncles 1.5–2.5 mm long. Male flowers: androecium 3.5–5.5 mm long; stamens 30–45. Female flowers on pedicels 0.4–1.2 mm long; calyx lobes narrowly triangular, 1.5–2 mm long, sparsely to densely stellate-pubescent abaxially, with margins entire; ovary densely stellate-pubescent. Fruit ovoid-ellipsoid, 7.5–9 mm long, with a sparse to moderately dense indumentum of stellate hairs, 1-seeded; persistent calyx lobes half the fruit length or less.
