Characteristics

Shrub to 2.5 m high, viscid on flowers; young branchlets with a dense white indumentum of stellate hairs. Leaves alternate, linear-obovate to narrowly obovate or linear-elliptic to narrowly elliptic, 25–54 mm long, 2–8 mm wide; base obtuse to cuneate; margin recurved to revolute; apex acute, obtuse or rounded, rarely apiculate; adaxial surface sparsely hairy with stipitate stellate hairs, glabrescent, minutely tuberculate. Inflorescences on peduncles up to 1.5 mm long. Male flowers: androecium 4–6.7 mm long; stamens 45–75. Female flowers ±sessile; calyx lobes narrowly obovate to obovate, oblong-elliptic or elliptic-ovate, 3.3–4.5 mm long, ±glabrous abaxially, with margins entire; ovary stellate-pubescent. Fruit ellipsoid, 6.9–8.5 mm long, with a sparse to moderately dense indumentum of stellate hairs, 1-seeded; persistent calyx lobes more than half the fruit length.
