Characteristics

Shrub 1–2 m high; young branchlets stellate-pubescent. Leaves spirally alternate, narrowly obovate or linear, 21–29 mm long, 2.4–4.4 mm wide; base cuneate; margin recurved; apex rounded to obtuse; adaxial leaf surface with a sparse to moderately dense indumentum of stellate hairs, glabrescent, smooth or with scattered tubercules. Inflorescences on peduncles 1.5–2.5 mm long. Male flowers: androecium c. 2 mm long; stamens c. 30. Female flowers: sessile; calyx lobes narrowly ovate to ovate, 3.2–4.2 mm long, sparsely stellate-pubescent abaxially, with margins fimbriate; ovary stellate-pubescent. Mature fruit not seen.

Environment

Grows in riparian habitats in open forest or woodland communities on grey sandy, dark brown sandy clay or dark brown loam soils. Recorded as being associated with Leptospermum spp., Callistemon sieberi, Pomaderris angustifolia, Bursaria spinosa, Acacia spp., Lomandra longifolia and Rubus spp.
