Characteristics

Shrub to 2.5 m high, thinly viscid on buds and flowers; young branchlets densely stellate-pubescent. Leaves alternate, lorate to linear, 8–32 mm long, 0.9–2.1 mm wide; base cuneate or obtuse; margin recurved or revolute to midrib concealing abaxial surface; apex straight, obtuse to acute; adaxial surface with a sparse to moderately dense indumentum of stellate hairs, glabrescent, smooth, sparsely punctate or minutely tuberculate. Inflorescences on peduncles 0.7–1.4 mm long. Male flowers: androecium 2.4–4 mm long; stamens (15–) 25–55. Female flowers ±sessile; calyx lobes narrowly ovate to ovate or narrowly triangular, 1.8–4.3 mm long, glabrous or sparsely to densely stellate-pubescent abaxially, with margins entire or fimbriate; ovary stellate-pubescent to tomentose, rarely glabrous. Fruit narrowly ellipsoid to ellipsoid or narrowly ovoid, 5.6–8.0 mm long, with a sparse to dense indumentum of stellate hairs or rarely glabrous, 1-seeded; persistent calyx lobes half the fruit length or shorter.
