Characteristics

Spreading shrub to 1.5 m high, not resinous. Young branchlets angular, glabrous. Leaves linear, 10–40 mm long, 1–1.3 mm wide; apex obtuse to acute, ultimately with apiculum 0.3–0.6 mm long; abaxial surface densely hairy with ± sessile, white stellate hairs c. 0.05 mm across. Flowers axillary, pedicellate, solitary or rarely 2 per axil; pedicels 2–4 mm long (♂), 5–12 mm long (♀), ± glabrous except for scattered minute erect hairs. Male flowers: calyx lobes ± erect; receptacle 0.8–1 mm across, minutely hairy; stamens 9–11. Female flowers calyx lobes suborbicular, 1–1.3 mm long; ovary glabrous, 3-locular; stigma ± discoid. Fruit subellipsoid, 3–4 mm long, glabrous; persistent calyx lobes c. one third of fruit length.
