Characteristics

Spreading much-branched shrub to 1 m high, resinous on most parts. Young branchlets ± angular, sometimes longitudinally grooved, glabrous. Leaves narrowly oblong, 8–16 mm long, 1.4–2 mm wide; apex rounded, ultimately with apiculum 0.  long; abaxial surface densely hairy with ±sessile, stellate hairs up to 0.3 mm across. Flowers axillary or terminal, solitary, pedicellate; pedicels 7–13 mm long (♂, ♀), papillose (mostly obscured by resinous covering). Male flowers: receptacle c. 1 mm across, minutely hairy; stamens 20. Female flowers: calyx lobes accrescent, suborbicular to very broadly ovate, 1.1–2 mm long (not elongating in fruit); ovary glabrous, 3-locular; stigma calyptriform. Fruit ±ellipsoid, c. 4.5 mm long, glabrous; persistent calyx lobes c. 1/5 of fruit length.
